I Painted All of Dark Vengeance in Two Weeks, Part Two

When I decided how I was going to bust through the Dark Vengeance set, I decided to work on Chaos second.  First off, it's the larger of the two forces.  Secondly, it has a ton of duplicate cultists with not quite as much detail.  I spent most of the time with the Helbrute, the Lord and the Chosen.  I went with a purple and indigo color scheme to use some different color patterns than my usual work.  It's more Tzeentch and Slaanesh - ish work, but I like how it turned out.

I Painted All of Dark Vengeance in Two Weeks, Part One

Our local store, Atomic Empire, commissioned me to paint up the Dark Vengeance and Island of Blood sets for use in demo games.  I started with the Dark Vengeance set because I had a set that was already assembled and I needed to work my way up to painting all those Island of Blood Skaven.  I hammered out the full Dark Vengeance set over a two week period, and am delivering them this evening.  Here's the Dark Angels side, which I painted first, as it was smaller.  I decided that for demo game purposes, I would stick with a green and gray color scheme for the whole army rather than have three different schemes.  It made painting simpler, and I think works better as a coherent small force for a starter set.

Thirty Painted White Lions!

I'll be taking these guys out for their first battle today.

I recently finished putting together and painting these thirty White Lions (plus the final two Swordmasters).  Let me tell you, the plastic White Lions are not fun to put together!  The arms join at the hand on the axe, which is a really fiddly thing to fit together perfectly.

Now that they're done, though, I can field a 2500 point High Elf army, using my Wood Elf archers as core.  With the paint scheme all matching, everything works out great.  I'm thrilled to realize my goal of having an Avelorn army that can play as either High or Wood Elves.  It's a nice way to get some variety and have a different theme for these armies.
