Painted High Elf Mage

The plastic High Elf Mage kit is awesome, and was a blast to put together. I have gotten some good feedback on this guy, especially on his blue robes and Yin-Yang staff.

A Massive Challenge!

I've embarked on a tough goal for the next two week period. I'd like to have a finished 40K army painted up to a high standard to take to tournaments, and so I have quite a few models to paint up. In the next two weeks, I'm going to buckle down on painting and finish:

12 Grey Hunters
3 Wolf Guard
1 Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf
10 Imperial Fist Tactical Marines

My hope is to get the following list finished by mid November. After I finish painting the above models, I'll have the drop pods left to finish.

Two Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves
One Rune Priest
Thirty Grey Hunters
Three Thundetwolves
Lysander
Ten Tactical Marines
Three SW Drop Pods
One Space Marine Drop Pod

So Atomic Empire just started serving beer. More on tap is apparently in the works. I'm excited for them, and hope it goes well!

First Painted Chaos Warrior

After recently acquiring a large Warriors of Chaos army very cheaply, I wasn't sure how to paint them. I've finally decide on a "Night Lords" scheme. I really like the Night Lords, but don't really want Chaos Space Marines. Transposing their colors and theme onto a Warriors army sounds like a lot of fun!

Army of Avelorn - The High Elf Side

Now that my Wood Elves have had their show, it's time to start working on the High Elf side of the army. Here's the first ten finished: 10 Swordmasters with Full Command.

Southern Assault Results

I had a great time at the Southern Assault Grand Tournament this past weekend. The TO's did a fantastic job of running things smoothly! I went 3-2 overall scoring (in the 20-0 system) a 9-11, 20-0, 18-2, 0-20, and 14-6 in my games.

I was excited to find that my Wood Elves won Best Painted! In addition my co-host from the Bull City Wargaming Podcast, Tom, won Best Sportsman (for the second year running!), and our good friend Joel won Best General! Eoin Whalen took Best Overall and Ben Mitchell took Best Hobbyist.

All finished and ready for Southern Assault this weekend! It was a lot of work, but came out really well. I'd like to get some spell tokens ready before the weekend, but am pretty much done!
