Wood Elf Display Board (WiP)

I started work yesterday afternoon on my Wood Elf Avelorn display board. The plan is to create a river and waterfall scene, which I've been planning out for quite a while. Here are the first few steps completed, and I hope to finish it this weekend.

Southern Assault is Coming, and So is Crazy Crunch Time

Southern Assault, which is Charlotte's Warhammer Fantasy Grand Tournament, is less than two weeks away, and prepping for it while working long hours and having the Atomic Empire grand opening to go to this weekend is no joke!

I have several things to get done:

* Paint and flock my GW forest.

* Assemble, paint and flock my display board.

This is a bit to get done so quickly, so I'm hoping for some good luck and some free time this weekend to get everything done. Wish me luck!

Painted Wood Elf BSB

I've come around to using a Wood Elf BSB after failing a few leadership tests that didn't really need failing, including the loss of a stubborn treeman once or twice. I love this (unwieldy and top heavy) Wood Elf BSB model, although it didn't have a ton of space on the banner for freehand. I went with a variation on the eye of Isis.

We will see how she works out on the table!

Six More Treekin!

I finished painting up another six Treekin, bringing the total for my Wood Elves to twelve. They're probably my most reliable units, and manage to really worry people, which is very helpful.

I'm particularly proud of the Treekin in the middle, who makes a good champion. He has two heads and a torso the contains a sculpted hole, which of course is for squirrels to run through.

Painted Helbrute

I was really excited to paint this model, but once I started wasn't that excited by it. I think there were a couple of reasons for the letdown.

1. Lots of flat black expansions.
2. Lots of fleshy bits...I've never really liked painting skin that much, especially when I think it looks silly in the first place.
3. A lack of color. The Helbrute doesn't have splashes of color like Kranon.

Anyway, he came out pretty well, and I'm looking forward to painting the Chosen!

Painted: Kranon the Relentless joins the Black Legion

I picked up a copy of Dark Vengeance last weekend, and wanted to paint Kranon and The Helbrute first. The one that came out the best was Kranon. I like it when black models have bright splashes of color to make them more interesting, and Kranon sure does!

Third Painted Thunderwolf

Here's the leader of the band. The S10 Powerfist is nasty when it hits the lines, swatting tanks around like gnats. I've also attached a pic of the squad.

Space Wold Thunderwolf Cavalry #2

I just realized that I didn't post last week...which may be a sign that I'm a bit busy at work. Anyway, I've got a ton of newly painted models to post over the next few days! Here my second Twolf Cav model. I wasn't thrilled with the white fur, but it's my first attempt and I know I can improve on it!
